Pilates during your pregnancy

Pilates focuses on your lower abdomen muscles, pelvic floor muscles and deep back muscles, which are all key to good posture, balance and strength. During pregnancy these are the exact muscles a woman needs to train to support her changing posture.

Exercise activity such as Pilates throughout your pregnancy will reduce risk for back pain, minimize other pregnancy discomforts and will keep you healthy and active.

IamPilates.nl will ensure that you train in a safe way adapting the exercises to the timeline and needs throughout your pregnancy.

Pilates during your pregnancy is given as a privet lesson or in small groups.

Pilates after birth

Pilates focuses on your lower abdomen muscles, pelvic floor muscles and deep back muscles, which are all key to good posture, balance and strength. After birth these muscles needs to be carefully and gradually trained to support your posture while nursing your newborn. Bodily awareness, which is taught in Pilates, is essential to reduce future injuries and prevent pain. IamPilates.nl will ensure that you train in a safe way adapting the exercises to the timeline and your daily needs while taking care of your baby.

Private classes with your newborn can begin from 4-6 weeks after birth.

Physiotherapy around your pregnancy

Did you know that up to two thirds of women who are pregnant suffer from back pain? It is true that back pain is common during pregnancy, but this does not mean that it should be, or that there is nothing that you can do about it!

The reasons for back pain vary from one to another. Managing your pain during and after pregnancy will most probably include an individual treatment plan to decrease pain by identifying and addressing its causes.

IamPilates.nl will help you within a few physiotherapy treatments to manage your pain by education, advice and special exercises..

This course is designed for women who want to stay fit during pregnancy. Pregnant women with back / pelvic complaints are also welcome.

Starting point is from about 25-30 weeks of your pregnancy.
